Mid-Century Balcony with Yellow Chairs and a Teak Table
One strong color makes a small balcony feel designed, and a pair of yellow chairs does it for very little money. Metal chairs are light enough to lift and stack, and a perforated seat drains quickly after rain. Keep the table small and round so it never blocks the door; 24 to 28 inches across is right for two people. Tripod planters on wooden legs are a classic mid-century shape and raise plants closer to the light. A narrow shelf that hooks over the railing holds drinks without using any floor. Teak ties everything together and weathers gracefully to a soft gray.
