Traditional Blue Dining Room with a Candlelit Tablescape
A traditional tablescape works in layers: runner, plates, candles, flowers. Blue-and-white china against navy walls keeps the palette to a single color, which is why a fully set table still looks restful. Keep the centerpiece low so guests can see each other across the table, and let tall taper candles supply the height instead. Brass candlesticks warm up the blue and pick up the chandelier. For everyday, strip it back to the runner and the flowers, then add the candles and china when people come over. The room is styled either way.
