Coastal Guest Bedroom with Airy Blue Curtains

In a small guest room, curtains can make the window, and the whole room, look bigger. Mount the rod close to the ceiling and let it extend eight to twelve inches past the frame on each side, so the fabric frames the glass instead of covering it. Sheer blue linen lets daylight through and sets the coastal palette without paint. Repeat the blue once on the bed with a striped throw, then keep everything else white and natural: rattan, jute and a vase of grass. Guests get a room that feels like a vacation, and it costs very little to put together.
