Mid-Century Bedroom with a Deep Navy Accent Wall
Warm walnut glows against deep navy, which is why this pairing shows up in so many mid-century rooms. Paint only the wall behind the bed so the headboard has a dark backdrop and the room stays bright elsewhere. Pick a navy with a slightly warm or gray undertone; very saturated blues can look purple under evening bulbs. Always test two or three large paint swatches on the wall and check them morning and night before committing. Carry the blue into one or two smaller pieces, such as the lamps and a throw, so the accent wall looks connected to the rest of the room.
